Associateship of the MA

Take responsibility for your career development
The Associateship of the Museums Association (AMA) is our flagship professional development award.

Through structured professional development and with the support of a mentor, it will help you to take responsibility for your development, develop job skills and the core competences needed for a successful career in museums and achieve your career aspirations.

The AMA takes two to three years to complete (on average) and registration is open to anyone who works in or for museums, this can be on a full-time, part-time, voluntary or temporary basis - you will need to have worked in museums for a minimum of three years by the end of your AMA.
