North East AMA Support Group

Who are we?

The North East AMA Support Group is a forum which exists to help museum, gallery and other heritage professionals who are working towards the AMA in the region.

Who is the group for?

The group welcomes everyone, from those who are thinking about starting, to those who have made more progress on the AMA. Members are from across the North East, working in a wide variety of organisations and areas of work.

What are our aims?

To motivate members by providing opportunities for meeting and sharing experiences in a supportive, informal atmosphere. To create CPD opportunities responding to members' needs on a regular basis.

To give members a chance to visit different organisations across the region and to keep up to date with best practice and current issues across the variety of areas of work within the sector.

How often and where do we meet?

We hold informal meetings every three months, usually for half a day. Meetings are held throughout the region. We contact members about all meetings and CPD opportunities, but members are welcome to drop in and out as time and needs allow. The group members can share contact details, and support each other in between meetings.

Who organises the meetings?

Meetings are organised by the two joint co-ordinators of the group, who welcome input from the group for ideas for meetings/volunteers to host meetings.
