Who got the job?
Project curator, The Garden Museum, London
Advertised: MJ Online, October 2015
What attracted you to this post?
I like working on big redevelopment projects and was particularly interested in this post as the Tradescants – early naturalists – are buried in the museum’s grounds. They owned the Ark, the first public museum in Britain, and we are working in partnership with Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum to recreate it. The museum is housed in the deconsecrated Church of St Mary-at-Lambeth.
Highlight so far?
The museum’s collection is being stored off-site for the duration of the project and I often visit to check the condition of objects. The opportunity to unpack objects and see them for the first time is wonderful.
Qualifications
BA history of art; MA art gallery studies.
Other posts held
Keeper of fine art, The Bowes Museum, County Durham.
