Object Description

The 'Tulipbank' was launched as the Admiralty Isles class trawler 'Neave', built at Beverley, near Hull, by Cook, Welton & Gemmel Ltd and launched on 16 July 1942. She was redesignated as a wreck dispersal vessel in 1946. Following her naval career she was sold in 1951 to the Liverpool-based company, British Wheeler Process Ltd, converted to a tank cleaning vessel and renamed 'Tulipbank'. She was sold again to Barclay Curle & Co Ltd in 1964, and was finally broken up fifteen years later. The equipment and machinery we have available from her comprises:

- Steam-powered steering gear no. 7417 by Donkin & Co, Newcastle-on-Tyne. Comprising the steering engine on a section of deck, quadrant and tiller, auxiliary steering wheel and pedestal, and the coupling between the rudder stock and steering gear. 8.09 tons.
- Steam windlass no. 645 by Tyne Metal Co Ltd. 4 tons.
- Bridge telemotor. 0.15 tons.
- lubrication reservoir and pipes and other unidentified parts.
