England: South West representative
Heritage engagement manager, Bristol Old Vic
I am working on a Heritage Lottery Fund project to tell the remarkable story of Britain’s oldest continuously running theatre following its 250th anniversary celebrations.
I have an MA in Heritage Management from Bath Spa University, and have previously worked for such institutions as The Holburne Museum, Exeter Cathedral, Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site.
Having been a member of the MA for a couple of years now, it has been a pleasure to see the organisation take a more significant role in pushing for change within both museums and society. I myself was an MA Transformer earlier this year, where I met an incredible and inspirational cohort of people challenging the status quo to provide a more dynamic and socially engaged museum environment.
I also help co-chair the South West Emerging Museum Professionals group, a support network for emerging museums, whether they are early career professionals, or transitioning from another sector.
It’s a pleasure to be a part of one of the most active and responsible job sectors out there, and I look forward to working with each and every one of you. Please send me an email or message if you would like to talk, and I am always active on Twitter and various other social media platforms as well.
Visitor experience and collections manager,Cornwall’s Regimental Museum
I have been in post since December 2016. Taking up this role, having been collections assistant at The Roman Baths since 2013, I am embracing the new aspects of my role, and the challenges and opportunities faced by a small military museum, especially as we become part of Cornwall’s Museum Partnership NPO.
I completed a Masters in Museum Studies in 2008 and my AMA in 2017. I have previously worked for the Museum of London and Museum of London Archaeology.
I am also the county representative for Cornwall on the board of the South West Federation of Museum and Art Galleries (SWFed), and am looking forward to be able to advocate for the amazing things being done in museums in Cornwall and the South West, across both organisations.
