England: North West representative
Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Trust, Carlisle
I have worked in museums for more than a decade, beginning as a serial volunteer and then as a curatorial trainee at the British Museum thanks to Heritage Lottery Skills for the Future. Following this I worked as an assistant curator at Hull Museums, during which time I completed a PhD in Egyptology and achieved Associateship of the Museums Association.
In my current role as curatorial manager at Tullie House I oversee collections management and curatorial work, and play an active role in the Cumbria Museums Consortium. This role lets me indulge my passion for discovering the fascinating stories locked within our collections, using these to support genuinely meaningful community engagement – something that I consider to be central to the work of museums.
