England: North East representative
The Auckland Project
I have worked in the museum sector for seven years, starting at the National Trust and then moving to English Heritage.
I then worked for the Black Country Living Museum before moving north to take up my current role at The Auckland Project in County Durham. I am currently undertaking my AMA and having been AMA Support Coordinator in the West Midlands I was keen to continue this role for the North East.
My experience is centred in visitor experience, moving from front of house to supervisory and then management roles.
I have organised and run training for both staff and volunteers and enjoyed developing community advisory panels. I have been involved in arts commissioning projects as well as taking a personal interest in how museums can contribute to wellbeing.
I am an associate of the Royal Society for Public Health and part of the RSPH special interest group for Arts, Health and Wellbeing, as well as a Dementia Friend.
I am also involved with the North East Emerging Museum Professionals (neemp) and Museums North – the federation for Museums in the North East.
