Job description

The Museums Association (MA) is seeking a full time Policy and Campaigns Officer to play a leading role in developing our policy and campaigns work.

In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to deliver our campaigns and policy, including Museums Change Lives, Museums for Climate Justice, Decolonising Museums, and anti-racism. You will conduct research, draft policy papers, create impactful content for our website, events and online training modules, and respond to information requests to ensure that we deliver for our membership and the wider sector.

You will have the opportunity to undertake research on our campaign and policy priorities and to help deliver our existing campaigns. Working closely with the Policy and Campaigns Manager you will also support the MA’s Ethics Committee which provides ethical advice for museums on a range of high-profile issues.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills; knowledge of the policy-making process; the ability to research and write accessible, clear policy content for a range of audiences; an enthusiasm for museums and the positive difference that they can make working in partnership with their communities; and will be able to manage multiple individual pieces of work.
