Role description
We are recruiting a working group to guide the review of the Code of Ethics for Museums. The working group will co-ordinate with the Ethics Committee, MA staff and board, and stakeholders in the sector to oversee the review and drafting of the revised Code of Ethics for Museums.
The aim of the working group is to:
- Review and assess the effectiveness of the Code of Ethics
- Support consultation with the wider sector on the effectiveness of the Code of Ethics
- Make recommendations of suggested amendments to the Code of Ethics to the Ethics Committee and the MA board
The role involves attending approximately four meetings per year online and liaising as a working group via email and telephone. The role is not remunerated.
We welcome applicants from museum professionals from all backgrounds and parts of the sector. To ensure diversity, we would particularly welcome applicants based and working in the nations of the UK; and people from a range of diverse backgrounds including people with disabilities, people of colour, people who identify as LGBTQI+ and people from a range of socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
