Speakers and programme announced for members' meeting on 28 November
The speakers and full programme have been announced for the Museums Association (MA) members’ meeting in Wrexham Museum on 28 November.

MA president Maggie Appleton will give a keynote about the association’s policy priorities, while MA director Sharon Heal will discuss advocacy.

Heledd Fychan, the head of policy and public affairs at Amgueddfa Cymru (National Museum Wales) and an MA board member, will talk about the opportunities and challenges for the sector.

Lynn Podmore, museums development officer at Conwy County Borough Council, will speak about how small museums in north Wales have worked in partnership to develop capital projects that have brought them closer to their communities. She will be joined by three speakers involved in the projects.

Delegates will also get the chance to participate in an interactive session about the MA’s Empowering Collections report, which aims to help collections become more empowering, dynamic and relevant to communities and potential audiences. There will also be a session on the climate crisis led by the MA’s three Welsh reps.

And delegates will get the chance to see Wrexham Museum, including the Football Forever! and Forgotten Wars exhibitions.
