Response form now online for Scottish members
The Museums Association is encouraging Scottish members to answer the MA's questions on Museums Galleries Scotland's (MGS) consultation into a national strategy, as well as responding directly to the MGS consultation.

In particular, the MA would like to address the issues of structure and funding for the Scottish sector.

Mark Taylor, the MA's director, said: "We have agreed with MGS that we will submit a substantial response. We are the most significant independent body speaking for Scottish museums and we want to make sure that our members' views are heard in this important consultation.

"As well as addressing the main thrust of the consultation, our questions also cover some of the things that MGS has not.

"Little attention has been paid to the issue of the structure of the sector in Scotland and the role that individual museums might play. And the issue of funding still needs to be addressed."
