Save £50 if you sign up by the end of this week
It's the last few days of the special offer on our flagship professional development award, the Associateship of the Museums Association (AMA). All new participants who sign up by 6 April will get £50 off the registration fee for the scheme.

The AMA is designed to empower people in museums to further their careers through a flexible programme of activities and mentoring. It's open to paid employees, volunteers, freelancers and consultants working in the museum sector.

The AMA takes between two to three years to complete and is easy to fit around your day-to-day work - many activities that you undertake as part of your job count towards the award.

Achieving the AMA brings professional recognition, and an enhanced ability to spot career opportunities and cope with challenges. It will help you to plan your career proactively, develop networks and contacts, and keep up to date with the latest sector developments.

The scheme has been updated and streamlined to bring it in line with current working practices.

"The AMA enables you to take control of your career," said the MA's professional development officer, Tamsin Russell. "You can complete it at your pace to help you realise your potential.

"We have made a number of changes already to tighten up the process and paperwork; and have introduced more flexible ways of enabling you to develop. Combined with opportunities for funding support it provides best value for time and money in terms of a professional development award in the sector."
