How is your museum marking National Inclusion Week?
Marking the beginning of National Inclusion Week, the Museums Association (MA) has set up an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.

The group will be looking to develop a clear and far reaching approach for the MA as an employer, ensure that all policies and services meet the needs of the sector now, and support the MA's commitment to sector diversification as a priority.

With National Inclusion Week beginning today, the MA is also asking museums to think about how they could become more inclusive as employers and also in terms of the audiences they reach.

National Inclusion Week is an annual campaign run by Inclusive Employers to raise awareness of the importance of inclusion in the workplace and the business benefits to having an inclusive workforce.

The MA has always been at the forefront of action on diversity and our recent report, Valuing Diversity: Radical Change In Museums continues to highlight challenges for the sector.

Tamsin Russell, the MA's professional development officer, who is convening this group, says: "We want to look at diversity in its broadest sense from the legal requirements outlined in the Equality Act to the impact of socio-economic constraints on participation and progression in the workforce."
