Network and hear about the MA’s policies and grants
Museums Association (MA) members based in or around North West England are invited to the upcoming Members’ Meeting – North West, which takes place at the Harris Museum & Art Gallery in Preston on 12 July.

Free to attend for all individual, institutional and corporate members, the meeting will be a great opportunity to network with colleagues from other museums, galleries and heritage sites and hear more about the work of the MA.

It will feature interactive sessions on the MA’s policies, workforce strategy and its flagship Museums Change Lives campaign, as well as the funding on offer, including the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, and how we can help support your advocacy work and career.

The meeting is also an opportunity for the MA to learn more about the challenges facing museums, galleries and heritage sites in the North West.

Speakers will include Caroline Hall, the collections manager at Blackpool Council Heritage Service, Sue Mackay, the curator of Keswick Museum and an MA board member, and David Fleming, the director of National Museums Liverpool and the president of the MA.

Afterwards, attendees will have a chance to chat to colleagues over a glass of wine and explore the museum.

The MA’s head of publications and events, Simon Stephens, said: “The North West Members’ Meeting will be a great chance to network with museum colleagues, discuss the MA’s policies and find out more about the funding and career development opportunities we offer.”
