Applicants now have until 10 June to submit proposals
Museums and suppliers have been given an extra two weeks to submit proposals to deliver a Museum Practice (MP) Workshop for exhibition visitors and conference delegates at the Museums Association (MA) Conference and Exhibition 2016 in Glasgow.

Taking place on 7-9 November at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, the MA Conference and Exhibition is one of the biggest networking opportunities for museum professionals in Europe.

MP workshops are held during the exhibition, taking place on 7-8 November, and offer practical, case study-led content to visitors and delegates.

They are an opportunity for companies, consultants and museum professionals to showcase recent projects, products or services, and lead discussion in a specific area of expertise.

Topics in previous years have included: interactive exhibitions, crowdfunding campaigns; displaying sensitive stories and objects; using Google Analytics more effectively; LED lighting; collections management; and engaging with people with dementia.

“MP Workshops are an opportunity to share best practice with a range of professionals, and we’re looking for innovative ideas from across all areas of museums’ work," said Simon Stephens, the head of events and publications at the MA.

"We are looking for proposals on the following themes: technology and digital; audiences, learning and engagement; collections, interpretation and exhibition design; and commercial activities."

The deadline for submitting a proposal is 10 June. Forms can be completed online.
