The deadline to propose a session for this year's Museums Association (MA) Conference in Belfast is 1 March.

The MA seeking proposals from anyone working in or with museums in the UK and internationally. The MA is also keen to hear perspectives from outside the sector.

The theme for the conference, which takes place on 8-10 November 2018 at Belfast Waterfront, is Dissent: Inspiring Hope - Embracing Change.

“Dissent can be scary, it can involve debate, friction and conflict,” says Simon Stephens, the head of publications and events at the MA. “But only by embracing change do we find the radical and innovative ideas that give all museums the tools to face the future with confidence, ambition and hope.”

The MA Conference and Exhibition will offer those taking part the chance to be part of an international conversation about the future of museums, galleries and heritage sites.

Delegates will also be able to enjoy the inspiring culture of Belfast, a welcoming and historic city that includes venues such as the Ulster Museum, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, HMS Caroline, Titanic Belfast and the Mac arts centre.
