Vote for changes to the MA's governance
Patrick Steel, 20.09.2010
Members to vote on new governance proposals for the MA at the AGM in Manchester on Monday 4 October
The MA's Annual Report 2009/10 outlines radical changes proposed by the MA Council on the association's governance and constitution.
These include a simpler structure, a more dynamic board, regular members meetings, enhanced communications and new member correspondents.
The MA Council hopes these changes will provide a governance structure for the 21st century and create new ways to represent and communicate with members.
MA director Mark Taylor said: “Our members have told us they want stronger advocacy and lobbying, and an increased dialogue with the MA, and this structure will be better able to provide this.”
Institutional and Individual members can vote on the proposals at this year’s Annual General Meeting at the MA Conference in Manchester on 4 October 2010.
Members who are unable to attend may nominate a proxy to vote on their behalf.
