Join us for an informal meet-up to get advice on your proposal
Have you got a great idea for a session at the Museums Association (MA) Annual Conference & Exhibition 2019 in Brighton? Come and join MA staff and our two London reps, Miranda Lowe and Katherine McAlpine, for an informal chat about what makes a session proposal stand out.

The Conference Proposals Meet-up will take place on 22 January upstairs at The Phoenix pub, 37 Cavendish Square, London, W1G 0PP from 6pm-7pm. It will be followed by Museums Showoff (tickets for this should be bought separately). The meet-up is free for all MA members to attend but places must be booked in advance.
The MA Conference will take place at the Brighton Centre on 3-15 October 2019. The theme is Sustainable and Ethical Museums in a Globalised World, and is linked to current social and political upheaval, demographic changes, rising inequalities and climate change.

The conference will explore how the sector can help to create a more sustainable world, how it can communicate challenges such as poverty and climate change to audiences, and how museums can support campaigns that are working for a fairer and more sustainable society.

The conference will also consider what the environmentally, financially and socially sustainable museum of the future might look like. Ethics will be a key element of the conference programme, which will interrogate the ethical implications of the international partnerships we seek to develop, how we confront the legacies of empire, and the role of global tourism in a more sustainable world.

The deadline to submit a session proposal is 3 February 2019.
