Early-bird offer ends next month
There are four weeks left to secure the early-bird booking rate for the Museums Association (MA) Conference & Exhibition, which is in Manchester on 16-18 November.

The early-bird offer ends on 16 August and offers fantastic value for money. Don’t miss out on three days featuring fantastic keynotes, thought-provoking conference sessions and a day devoted to tours, talks and special events at museums and galleries throughout Manchester.

The MA Conference & Exhibition also offers social events at the Whitworth art gallery, the Museum of Science and Industry and the People’s History Museum (PHM).

There will be training sessions for work related to Museums Change Lives, the MA’s flagship policy for how museums can have a real impact on the communities that they serve.

"I'm really looking forward to the sector coming together in Manchester to discuss how we can rise to the challenges we face and make a real difference to people's lives," said Simon Stephens, the head of publications and events at the MA. "We've got a great programme this year that is designed to provoke, inspire and challenge delegates."

New for this year’s conference is the Festival of Change, which will provide a playful and creative presence throughout the event. It will embody the spirit of Transformers, the MA’s programme to help museum professionals lead radical change in the sector.

The Festival of Change programme includes protest banner-making workshops at PHM;  a nail bar run by Charlie Craggs, a Transactivist; and the Homeless Library, which will give delegates an insight into the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

This year’s event in Manchester also offers a series of 28 Museum Practice and Career Hub Workshops, the chance to meet a world-class range of suppliers on the exhibition floor and a busy programme of fringe events.
