Deliver an energiser session at Museum Tech 2018

Rebecca Atkinson, 18.04.2018
Your chance to present at one-day digital festival
The Museums Association (MA) is running a competition for a post-lunch energiser session for the forthcoming Museum Tech 2018: A Digital Festival for Museums on the 7 June at the Museum of London.

The one-day conference presents some of the latest digital experiences, tools and projects developed for the museum sector and beyond. This interactive seminar features case studies, keynotes and practical demonstrations that sheds light on how technology can be used in many diverse areas of museum practice.

Following sold-out events in 2016 and 2017, Museum Tech 2018 will explore some of the big issues in the digital sector including the Culture is Digital report, access and what makes a successful digital project.

There will also be case studies from a number of museums, including the David Attenborough virtual reality experience at London’s Natural History Museum, a recreation of Modigliani’s studio at Tate Modern, and the Traces app developed for St Fagans National Museum of History.

As part of the programme, the MA is looking for proposals for an engaging 15-minute energiser session, which will take place immediately after lunch. Professionals are invited to email the MA’s online publications editor, Rebecca Atkinson, with their suggestions, and the best entry will be asked to deliver the session, in return for a free place at Museum Tech 2018 (worth up to £195) and travel expenses.

Energiser sessions should be suitable for a mixed audience of about 150 people sat theatre-style. The MA is looking for sessions that encourage creative thought; interaction or discussion; or networking.

Please email a short description of your proposed 15-minute energiser session to rebecca.atkinson@museumsassociation.org by 5pm on 30 April.
