The Museums Association (MA) has published a series of films from its Annual Conference and Exhibition 2017 in Manchester on its YouTube channel, featuring selected keynotes and sessions from the conference.

These include keynotes from the poet Lemn Sissay, artist Jeremy Deller, director and co-curator of the ESMA Memory Site Museum in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Alejandra Naftal, and sessions about funding priorities for the future, the demands on the 21st-century curator and an exploration of how museums can make the most of their assets.

"There were some fascinating contributions from both inside and outside the sector," said Simon Stephens, the head of publications and events at the MA. "And Alejandra provided a powerful international perspective on how museums can address traumatic histories in a positive and meaningful way.

"It was a great programme, with sessions that provoked, inspired and challenged delegates to think about their practice and their approach to museums.

"We are now planning Belfast 2018, which is shaping up to be an equally exciting and vibrant event, and we would encourage you to book now to ensure your place."

The MA is calling for session proposals for Belfast 2018. The theme for this year's conference is Dissent - Inspiring Hope, Embracing Change.
