MA unveils programme for members' meeting in Wales

All-day event to be held at Cardiff Story on 29 March
The Welsh Museums Strategy, Collections 2030 and the future of learning and engagement will be among the topics discussed at next month's Museums Association (MA) members' meeting in Wales.
The event on 29 March at Cardiff Story will begin with a keynote by MA president Maggie Appleton, who is the chief executive of the Royal Air Force Museum.
The meeting will also see the launch of the Collections 2030 report, the MA's investigation into the the long-term purpose, use and management of museum collections. MA policy officer Alistair Brown and Owain Rhys, community engagement and participation manager at Amgueddfa Cymru (National Museum Wales - NMW), will discuss the report.
After lunch, Heledd Fychan, MA board member and the head of policy and public affairs at NMW, will lead a discussion on the development of the next museums strategy. And MA director Sharon Heal will discuss the future of learning and engagements in museums.
Delegates will also hear about the MA's workforce offer and Power to the People, a framework that the organisation has developed to help museums understand and improve their participatory practice and community engagement.
The meeting will run from 1115 to 1700.
