New speaker announced for Let's get digital

The Museums Association (MA) has announced a new speaker for this month’s one-day Museum Practice seminar on maximising the benefits of digital technology in museums.

Anna Dinnen, the assistant programme manager at the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts, will join the expert panel at the Let’s get digital: New strategies for a new age seminar on 20 January in London.

Dinnen will share lessons on what makes a successful digital project and take a look at what the Digital Culture survey reveals about future developments in digital.

At the seminar, delegates will have a chance to find out what digital strategies they need to have in place to ensure the long-term success of their museum’s digital presence, whatever its budget and size.

Using the latest case studies, the panel of experts will demonstrate how museums are using digital technology in exhibitions, developing smartphone apps that people want to download and designing websites that meet visitors’ needs.

Delegates will also hear practical guidance on developing, implementing and maintaining an effective digital strategy, and the latest thinking on how to naturalise digital into their museums’ wider vision and support the digital literacy of their workforce.

Dinnen replaces Matt Jukes, the head of digital transformation at the Office for National Statistics, on the panel.

Other speakers include Andrew Lewis, the digital content delivery manager at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), and Mike Ellis, the director of web consultancy Thirty8 Digital.

The seminar takes place on 20 January 2015 at the Royal College of Surgeons in London. Space will be limited so book now to reserve your place.
