If you need financial help to attend the Museums Association (MA) Annual Conference and Exhibition 2017 then there are a range of grants and discounts available across the UK.

The MA is offering 50 subsidised places at £128 each for anyone working at a small or medium-sized museum that is also an institutional member of the MA. Offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

In Wales, the Welsh Museums Federation is offering grants of up to £1,000 to staff at non-national museums in Wales for fees, travel and subsistence at conference.

The Association of Independent Museums AIM is offering its members training grants of up to £300, which can be used to attend Manchester 2017. Priority will be given to smaller museums receiving less than 50,000 visitors.

And a number of museum development organisations across England are offering grants and bursaries, often with an emphasis on first-time delegates.

Simon Stephens, the head of publications and events at the MA, says: “I'm really looking forward to the sector coming together in Manchester to discuss how we can rise to the challenges we face and make a real difference to people's lives.

"We've got a great programme this year that is designed to provoke, inspire and challenge delegates."
