Funding for mid-career professionals to make museums more resilient
The Museums Association (MA) is encouraging applications to the second year of its Transformers programme, funded by Arts Council England, which supports participants to work with their peers to test out ideas to make their organisation more resilient.

The first phase of the programme is open to individuals in museums in England, and includes peer-supported learning, residential courses, and the chance to pitch up to £3,000 microfunding to invest in change for themselves and their organisation.

In total 24 places are available on the programme, which will run from July until March 2016.

Jess Turtle, the MA’s project coordinator (Transformers), said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for individuals who want to make a change for their museums and themselves in response to the current economic, social and political challenges the sector is facing.

“Having delivered a very successful pilot year of the programme, we have developed Transformers, offering even more opportunity for learning and development to our new cohort.

“We hope to see a very broad range of applications from mid-career professionals with the seed of an idea for change that they are keen to develop with peers and experts from across the sector and beyond.”

The closing date for applications is 5pm on 20 May 2015.
