Special offer on Associateship of the Museums Association

£50 off new AMA registrations until 31 March
The Museums Association (MA) is offering a £50 discount on new registrations for its professional development scheme, the Associateship of the Museums Association (AMA), until 31 March.

The scheme has been developed and streamlined to bring it up to date and into line with current working practices. It takes two to three years to complete, with guidance from a mentor and support from peer groups and the MA’s professional development team.

The AMA is designed to improve people's skills, enhance their knowledge, and empower them to further their career. Participants can work towards their AMA in their own time, and some activities they undertake in their job will count towards professional development, including a work-based project.

Benefits of undertaking the AMA include professional recognition and an enhanced ability to spot opportunities and cope with changes and challenges. The award also encourages people to plan their career proactively, developing networks and professional contacts and keeping up to date with the latest developments.

Tamsin Russell, the MA’s professional development officer, says: “Our hope is by providing an opportunity to develop, within an organisation and on the job, that people have more relevant and robust experiences to help them develop over time.”

Zoe Spencer, the MA’s marketing and membership manager, says: “Many previous AMA participants have found that the award has helped them to boost their motivation, learn new skills and ultimately further their career.”

“This £50 discount is an extra helping hand and means there’s no better time to sign up than now.”

The discount ends on 31 March.
