The Museums Association (MA) is seeking to recruit 15 member representatives and five representatives to sit on its Ethics Committee.

Member representatives are a vital link between the MA and its members. They attend members’ meetings, speak on the MA’s behalf at meetings with regional and national bodies and keep the association in touch with what’s happening on the ground.

The association is seeking to recruit one rep for each English region, and two reps for every devolved nation.

The posts are for a period of three years and are unpaid, but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. Applicants must be individual members of the MA.

The MA also has five vacancies on its Ethics Committee. The committee plays an important role in developing and monitoring sound ethical principles and behaviour within the museum community.

The committee offers advice and guidance to museums on ethical matters and recommends amendments to the Code of Ethics where necessary.

The committee meets at least once and typically three times a year. Committee members serve for three years and are unpaid, but can claim reasonable travel expenses.

Applicants must individual members of the MA or representatives of an institutional member. Individuals may be paid, unpaid or involved in museum governance.

The application deadline for all positions is 11 April 2014.
