The Museums Association (MA) is to roll out the next phase of its Museums Change Lives (MCL) programme to Scotland and Northern Ireland in September.

The launch of the next stage of the campaign will take place at the MA’s free Member’s Meetings at the Ulster Museum in Belfast on 13 September and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh on 19 September.

The events will also provide a chance to hear about the MA’s policy aims, the funding we offer and how we can help support your advocacy work. There is also the chance to find out how the MA’s workforce offer can develop your career.

You will also get the chance to discuss the challenges facing your area, meet MA staff, and network with staff and colleagues from museums, galleries and heritage sites.

Alistair Brown, the MA’s policy officer, says: “We’re really looking forward to celebrating the next stage of the Museums Change Lives campaign at events in Belfast and Edinburgh in September.

“Museums in Northern Ireland and Scotland feature prominently in the new Museums Change Lives publication, and that’s a reflection of the huge effort that museums in both countries have put into developing their socially engaged practice. These events will be a chance to share ideas, network and examine how museums can take the next step on this journey.”
