The MA is reviewing the Fellowship of the Museums Association (FMA), a high level professional development award and level of membership to the Museums Association.

The FMA recognises and encourages an advanced level of professional contribution, development and achievement by people in all areas of museum work.

Entry to the FMA was suspended in 2010 and the Museums Association is now seeking to review and refresh it.

The MA is asking its members, and anyone else with an interest in the scheme, to complete a survey into the future of the FMA. All respondents will be entered into a draw to win a £20 Amazon voucher.

Charlotte Holmes, the Museums Association's museum development officer, said: “The FMA has been suspended since 2010, so we are very happy that we have got the go-ahead from the board to review the scheme now.

“We are in a real period of change for the museum sector at the moment, and there is a need for strong managerial and leadership skills, so it is an opportune time to revise the FMA and to think about how to recognise and support significant achievement in more senior museum professionals.

“We are keen to get members' opinions on how we can strengthen our professional development schemes.”

The survey closes on Friday 28 September.
