Call for proposals for Conference 2013

Patrick Steel, 07.01.2013
Have you got a great idea for a Conference session?
The Museums Association is looking for session proposals for its Annual Conference and Exhibition 2013 in Liverpool this November.

Sessions can take the form of panel discussions, debates, workshops, or short pop-up sessions exploring new ideas. Suggestions that take on innovative formats or subjects, engage the audience, or involve speakers from outside the sector are strongly encouraged.

Sharon Heal, head of publications and events at the Museums Association, said she was hoping that this year in Liverpool would top last year's record-breaking conference in Edinburgh.

"Last year in Edinburgh we had the biggest attendance in five years - it was a real testament to the strength of the programme and social events. This year we want to up the ante: the conference is in Liverpool and we want to put on something really special that gets delegates engaged in debate and networking like never before.

"The call for proposals is now live on the website - this is people's chance to put forward the ideas that they want to see debated and discussed in Liverpool.

"Staff at the MA are more than happy to discuss ideas for potential sessions - we're on the lookout for quirky ideas, formats that engage the audience and speakers from outside the sector."

Closing date for proposals is 22 February.
