Meeting to be held at Glasgow Women's Library on 11 September
The Museums Association's (MA) Scotland Members' Meeting, which takes place at Glasgow Women's Library on 11 September, will feature a panel session on the Scottish government's draft culture strategy.

Led by Gillian Findlay, an MA board member and the head of museums and collections at Culture Perth and Kinross, the session will discuss the draft strategy, with input from Jilly Burns, the head of national and international partnerships at National Museums Scotland, David Mann, the director of the Scottish Maritime Museum, and Joe Traynor, the head of partnerships and programmes at Museums Galleries Scotland.

The discussion will help to shape the MA's response to the strategy consultation, which the association will publish in October.

The meeting is also an opportunity to hear about the MA's funds, including the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, the association's professional development programme, and Collections 2030, a major research project looking at the long-term purpose, use and management of museum collections.

Members will also get a chance to hear a sneak preview of Rachel Thain-Gray's presentation to the MA's People Power: Embedding Community Participation event, in which she will discuss the Glasgow Women's Library's Equality in Progress project, for which the museum collaborated with YouthLink Scotland.

The event is free for all individual, institutional and corporate members of the MA.
