#MuseumSummer2022 photo competition
What are you doing this summer?
From crafts and collages to tours and trails, we know you’ll be getting stuck into museums and their activities this summertime.
We’d love to see what you’re getting up to, so we’re inviting you to share your experiences with us in our #MuseumSummer2022 photo competition across Twitter and Instagram.
At the end of the competition, we’ll pick one winning organisation and one winning individual to receive membership prizes – 10% off your organisation’s institutional membership, and free essential individual membership respectively.
We can’t wait to see your entries – let #MuseumSummer2022 begin!
How to enter
To enter, simply post a photo of one of your summery museum activities on Twitter or Instagram and tag it with #MuseumSummer2022. If you’re an organisation, this could be an activity or programme you’re running, and if you’re an individual, this could be an exhibition or event you visited.
We’ll be looking at your entries throughout August, and the deadline for submitting entries is 11.59pm on Friday 2 September 2022.
Competition rules
We will pick two winners after the closing date of the competition:
- One organisation which will receive a 10% discount towards the cost of one year’s institutional membership of the MA, either new or renewed
- One individual who will receive one year’s free essential individual membership of the MA, either new or renewed
You can enter as many times as you’d like, with as many photos as you’d like.
If you submit photos to the competition, we may ask you if we can use those photos for our future marketing and communications materials.

Organisation winner: Rugby Art Gallery and Museum

We loved this photo of someone very proudly showing us their artwork as inspired by a piece that’s already on display at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum. An artist for a future exhibition, perhaps?
Organisation winner: Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter

We’re thrilled to see collections inspiring children’s crafts in this picture from RAMM’s ‘make a mask’ activity, drawing upon the museum’s World Cultures collection.
Individual winner: Mark Cobain

Everyone looks like they’re hard at work in this snap at the Cartoon Museum, London – what a fun setting for creating your own artworks!
Individual winner: Joanna Harrison

Anyone for jousting? We love this action shot from a Tudor-inspired scene at Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds.
