The Design Museum has made two appointments to its team – Justin McGuirk as chief curator and Tom Wilson as head of collection and research.

Paolo Viscardi, the natural history curator at the Horniman Museum & Gardens, is leaving to join the Grant Museum of Zoology as its curator.

Julia Twomlow, the director of Leach Pottery, is to become the artistic director and chief executive of the Rothesay Pavilion on the Isle of Bute, Scotland.

The Mary Rose Trust has appointed Helen Bonser-Wilton as its chief executive. She replaces John Lippiett, who retired after 12 and a half years in the post.

Bonser-Wilton joins from the National Trust, where she was operations director. Mhairi Cross has become the chief executive of National Mining Museum Scotland. She was previously the museums manager at Renfrewshire Arts.

Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne, East Sussex, has appointed Brian Cass as the head of exhibitions. He was previously the curator for the creative arts at Trinity College, Dublin.

Sarah Munro is joining the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead as the director. She moves from Glasgow Life.

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation has unveiled a number of appointments. Rob Bell is the new director of strategy. He was previously head of social justice at the foundation.

Régis Cochefert has moved from his role as head of arts at the foundation to become director of grants and programmes.

Jane Steele has been appointed as director of evaluation and impact. She joins from the General Teaching Council for England.
