Participatory practice survey launched by independent funder

Views of museum professionals will feed into research project
An independent funder is encouraging museum professionals to take part in a survey to share their views on participatory practice.

The survey, which is designed to take 10-15 minutes to complete, is part of a research project being carried out by the independent consultancy ERS.

ERS says that is has been commissioned “to explore current practices and drivers for involving communities in the work of museums and galleries”.

“The study aims to draw out key lessons about designing successful influencing strategies, which should be of benefit to the wider sector when findings are published later in 2018,” adds the company. “You don’t need to be an ‘expert’ in participation to take part, and we very much look forward to hearing what you have to say.”

The findings will be published towards the end of the year and aim to support the sector through sharing best practice.

A spokeswoman for ERS requested that the funder not be named in this article in order to minimise response bias.
