Museum of Computing seeks new premises as a result of campus shutting
The University of Bath's decision to close its Oakfield campus in Swindon this July means that the Museum of Computing will shut at the end of June.

The museum, which is next to the university library, attracted about 2,000 visitors in the last financial year. It is funded through donations and sponsorship by computer company Intel.

A museum spokeswoman said a list of alternative locations had been drawn up. "We need to consider long-term as well as short-term options," she said.

Curator Simon Webb said staying in Swindon was a priority. He said finding new premises meant the museum could apply for accreditation from the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council. The museum has more than 2,000 hardware exhibits and 2,500 software items.
