Members of five UK political parties will debate their policies on the arts, heritage and creative industries as part of a live-streamed event taking place at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London.

The Culture Debate, which will take place this evening, will see members of the panel debate their parties' policies on the arts and creative industries in front of a live studio audience, including leading figures from the sector.

Members of the panel are: Ed Vaizey, the Conservative minister of state for culture and the digital economy; Harriet Harman, the Labour shadow secretary of state for culture media and sport; Jane Bonham-Carter, co-chairwoman of the Liberal Democrat’s committee on culture; Peter Whittle, the culture spokesman for Ukip; and Martin Dobson, the Green Party spokesman for culture, media and sport.

Viewers will have the chance to put their questions to the panel using the hashtag #CultureDebate.

The Culture Debate will be live streamed on the Royal Opera House YouTube channel and BBC Arts from 7.15pm tonight.
