Free entry and special events at hundreds of venues
Museums and heritage sites across the UK are rewarding National Lottery players this week.

By presenting a valid National Lottery ticket or scratchcard at participating venues from 3–9 December, visitors can obtain special benefits such as free entry and guided tours.

The campaign, publicised on Twitter with the hashtag #ThanksToYou, has been launched by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to thank players for their contributions to supporting heritage projects across the UK.

HLF chief executive, Ros Kerslake, said: “December is a wonderful time to experience the UK’s rich, diverse and exciting heritage, which has been transformed by more than £7.8bn National Lottery funding since 1994. This is a small gesture of thanks and a way of giving something back to the people who buy tickets.”

Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham, south-west London, is one of the venues taking part in the campaign this week. Visitors to the Lost Treasures of Strawberry Hill exhibition on Friday 7 December will receive a free gift and complimentary admission.

Nick Dolan, the director of the Strawberry Hill Trust, said: “We are hugely grateful for the massive help given by the HLF. Without such support, we could not have undertaken the restoration of Strawberry Hill House, a famous building for its Gothic style and glorious interiors.”
