Museum is an option for Met Police's collection
The Museum of London (MoL) is in early discussions with the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime about a crime museum.

A report published in August by the Greater London Authority called on the Metropolitan Police to make its collection of crime artefacts publicly available.

But it ruled out opening a standalone museum and recommended that the Met exhibited its collection on a temporary basis in an existing museum, independently or through a private partner.

A spokesman for MoL said: “We understand that discussions with many stakeholders are taking place.

“We have been involved in some early conversations about options for a combined Metropolitan Police Museum, but no concrete plans have been made.”
