The National Maritime Museum Cornwall ran a project this year to help towards the physical and mental rehabilitation of wounded, injured and sick veterans through a course that saw them learn boat-building skills and train in rowing.

The Great Big Cornish Gig Project enabled the group to build a gig boat and then row it to Scillies for the 2016 World Pilot Gig Championships.
