The September edition of Museum Practice (MP) will look at how museums can develop an effective social media strategy.

Museums use Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and Facebook to engage new audiences with their collections and launch fundraising initiatives. This edition of MP will explore how these platforms can be used effectively and properly maintained.

It will also look at how museums can work with travel bloggers, build online communities, utilise volunteers and exploit current trends as part of their social media strategy.

Museums are invited to submit their own case studies on interpreting current events.

Case studies should be about 300 words long and accompanied by photographs.

For tips and advice, read this guide to writing a Museum Practice case study.

Please email your case studies by September 5 to
