Museum Practice looks at what recent lighting developments mean for museums
In January 2011, Museum Practice (MP) looked at the rise of LED technology and asked whether the time was right for museums to jump on the bandwagon.

Nearly two years later, MP returns to the issue of lighting with a selection of articles exploring recent developments and case studies.

As well as an update on the quality and performance of LEDs, lighting writer Jill Entwistle explains what forthcoming EU legislation might mean for museums and the lights they rely on.

Elsewhere, Francis Pearce explores changing attitudes towards light exposure, Arfon Davies makes the case for natural light and David Clements looks at some of the challenges lighting designers face when working on historic buildings.

You can also read a selection of case studies from other MP readers about their experiences with lighting.
