Latest MP looks at 3D technology
Museums are using 3D technology in all kinds of ways and the latest edition of Museum Practice (MP) explores some of the main ones – printing, digitisation and audiovisuals.

As the articles show, the applications of the technology are even more numerous. 3D is being used for research, conservation, collections management, retailing, archiving, exhibition-making and lots more.

Whatever the applications, one thing is certain: the pace of change is daunting, sometimes making it difficult for museums to decide how to get involved.

MP explores the potential for this evolving technology but also the challenges, using case studies from the UK and abroad.
