Findings published in Museum Practice on mobile in museums
The findings of the Museums Association's Mobile Survey 2013 have been published as part of the latest edition of Museum Practice (MP) exploring mobile technology in museums.

The survey, which ran from 16-28 June and was completed by 175 institutions, looks at how different types of organisations are providing a mobile offer to visitors, from QR codes and smartphone apps to responsive websites, Wi-Fi and augmented reality.

The findings have been used to inform an edition of MP looking at some of the challenges and opportunities of mobile technology. Articles explore free versus paid for apps, the public's perception of museum apps, marketing challenges and how small museums can get involved.

These issues will also be explored in more detail in a one-day MP seminar on mobile technology, which takes place at the British Museum on the 28 November.
