Archaeological archives - unstratified bulk material, primarily pottery, animal bone and ceramic building material from Milton Keynes area.
Following a review of the finds archive from the Milton Keynes archaeology unit, a retention/disposal process has identified substantial quantities of unstratified bulk finds, mostly excavated in the 1970s and 1980s which are no longer appropriate to retain. Primarily consisting of pot sherds (Roman, medieval and post medieval), animal bone and ceramic building material, these finds may be of use for handling collections, or destructive sampling/testing. Any interest in viewing or specific requests, please see contact details below. A spreadsheet with further details can be supplied.
