We are recruiting a working group to guide the review of the Code of Ethics for Museums. The working group will co-ordinate with Ethics Committee, MA staff and board, and stakeholders in the sector to oversee the review and drafting of the revised Code of Ethics for Museums.

Our “Telephone Gallery”, part of the BT Connected Earth scheme, holds many delights for enthusiasts and the general public alike: old exchanges, a range of switchboards, several hands-on telephone and telegraph items are set up and functioning. Preserving these exhibits for the future by repairing and maintaining artefacts and fixtures is down to our Telecommunications Team.

Our Granary Tea Room is known for its incredible homemade cakes and is a key element of our visitor’s experience, with volunteers serving the counter and taking food and drinks orders. This front of house role is for you if you are approachable, hands on, communicative and are happy to use a till and handle cash.

Something all of our year-round events have in common are our Event volunteers who are in charge of planning, running and stewarding an ever-increasing events programme, from big multi-period events and our famous 1940s weekend, to small family events and children’s trails. We rely on our maintenance team to build and create displays, and to maintain, restore and repair our collection.
