And relax… Social events at Conference 2021
After a hectic day, our evening social events are a chance for conference delegates to unwind and have fun. With the kind support of our colleagues at National Museums Liverpool, we’ll take you to see some of the city’s most iconic museum spaces after hours.
Opening party – Merseyside Maritime Museum
1800-2000, Sunday 7 November
Start off your conference experience by networking with colleagues at our opening night drinks reception at the Merseyside Maritime Museum. Highlights of the museum include the new Life on Board gallery, which tells the story of the city’s seafarers and passengers. The museum also features Titanic and Liverpool: The Untold Story, a compelling permanent display exploring Liverpool’s central role in the Titanic story.
Conference party – Museum of Liverpool
1900-2100, Monday 8 November
Join us at the Museum of Liverpool for our main conference party. Celebrating its 10th anniversay this year, this magnificent waterfront museum offers a chance to explore the city’s diverse history. Current exhibitions include Liverpool 8 Against Apartheid, the story of how Liverpool’s Black community supported the anti-apartheid campaign in the 1980s and Blitzed: Liverpool Lives, featuring personal accounts and photographs of the Blitz.
Closing party – Walker Art Gallery
1845-2045, Tuesday 9 November
Celebrate the end of your time at this year’s conference by socialising with sector colleagues at the Walker Art Gallery, surrounded by beautiful paintings, sculpture and decorative art from the 13th century to the present day.
