Think it is great the MA Director is up in Scotland having sit down meetings with key stakeholders this week. Over the last 3 years I've certainly witnessed MA policy and initiatives taking root in Scotland and have benefitted from the advice and support of MA staff. I find the website and journal invaluable in keeping up to speed about what is going on. I know everyone is looking forward to the Conference being held in Edinburgh. All are examples of what the MA is doing for Scottish members. Let's ensure we continue to build on this.

MGS held a session at MA Conference to discuss the consultation process for the National Strategy. They are keen for everyone to respond via the online survey as it's going to be the most efficient and cost-effective way of collating responses. The less time that the consultants spend on entering data into the survey themselves, the more time there will be for analysis. The consultation events in Glasgow and Edinburgh are a chance for more discussion and feedback but the MGS are still encouraging us to enter responses via the survey form available on their website. The issue was raised at the meeting as to whether a process focused on online forms was the most accessible for everyone who'd like to contribute.

Plenty of up to the minute news about the MGS Collaborating to Compete available on Twitter. Search for #MGSconf to find out more. We're hoping for updates from Mark Taylor for those who couldn't make it. Remember to check the MGS website for the latest on the National Strategy.

This is an interesting piece - brought to my attention by Museums and Galleries Scotland via Twitter - about how museums can use Twitter and Facebook as a way of talking to visitors without necessarily needing a website.
