West Midlands AMA Support Group
Who are we?
The West Midlands AMA Support Group is a forum which exists to help museum, gallery and other heritage professionals who are working towards the AMA in the region.
We aim to
Meet six times a year at a variety of museums and heritage sites to look at best practice, new initiatives and different ways of working
Provide learning experiences in the form of talks and tours
Provide a communication and discussion forum both inside and outside meetings, to discuss topical and ethical issues and allow for mutual support
Motivate members to carry through the AMA process
Discuss AMA paperwork in an environment of support and guidance
Network and meet others in the area at various stages of the AMA process (including inviting those who have completed it to talk about their experiences)
Give the opportunity for members to host events at their organisation
Who is the group for?
The group welcomes everyone, from those who are thinking about starting, to those who have made more progress on the AMA
Members are welcome from across the West Midlands, working in a wide variety of organisations and areas of interest.

For anyone wondering if they can justify coming, Birmingham's German Market will be open and is just outside the Musuem so you can always walk slowly back through Birmingham and have a look on your way (I recommend the candied cashews)!
Please do let us know if you can come by emailing amawestmids@gmail.com or contacting myself or Gum direct at Aston Hall on 0121 675 4722. Hope to see you there!

SPEAKERS WILL INCLUDE:
Rebecca White, Regional Volunteering Officer for National Trust West Midlands,
Claire Blackburn, Property Administrator and Volunteer Champion for Coughton Court,
