East Midlands AMA Support Group

Who are we?

The East Midlands AMA support group is a forum which exists to help museum, gallery and other heritage professionals who are working towards the AMA in the region.

Who is the group for?

The group welcomes everyone, from those who are thinking about starting, to those who have made more progress on the AMA. Members are welcome from across the East Midlands, working in a wide variety of organisations and areas of work.

What are our aims?

· To offer peer support for people working through the AMA.

· To provide a network of museum contacts in the region

· To motivate members to achieve their CPD targets

· To provide opportunities to share experiences

· To discuss practical aspects of CPD and the AMA process

· To meet regularly and to arrange visits and speakers that will help with the AMA process The East Midlands AMA support group is supported by MLA East Midlands and Renaissance East Midlands who help to provide current information, advice and support.

How often do we meet?

The East Midlands support group meets 6 times a year. The group sets the agenda for the meetings which take the form of informal discussions on issues and topics agreed by the group.

The meetings include a chance for a tour of the host museum and speakers from host museums can also contribute to the day. Meetings also give members the chance to network. Group members can share contact details, and support each other in between meetings.

Who organises the meetings?

Members are invited to host and organize a meeting for the group, with support from the group co-ordinator. For more information, or to join the group, please contact the group co-ordinator
