MA asks hubs for raw data to make the case for Renaissance
The Museums Association has sent out a survey to the nine lead hub museums, asking them what they think will happen in the regions if Renaissance is cut by 25 per cent, or if the programme is closed, and how that will impact on opening hours, staff, programmes and eductation.
It is hoped that the survey will provide raw data to help the MA and the wider museum sector lobby government about the importance of the programme.
Mark Taylor, the MA’s director, said: “We need to be clear about exactly what the impact of cuts will be. We need this raw material in order to be able to make the case succinctly to Government.”
The results of the survey will be published in September in Museums Journal and on the website.
